Isode R10.6v3 released

The latest Isode release, Version 10.6v3, is now available from our website. Links to documentation for this release can be found on the relevant platform download pages. This release should replace all previous R10.6 installations being used by customers or those evaluating Isode products.

Details of the features and fixes in this release can be found in the Release Notes, located here.

Please note that both Release Notes and binaries are located in the Customer Area of the Isode website, access to which requires a login and password.

We encourage evaluations of Isode products so, if you want to evaluate any Isode product, contact us on enquiries@isode.com or visit our site's evaluation page.

Encryption

Whenever we meet with other technology organizations you can be certain that the conversation will stray into areas not originally intended. At our meeting with the London Internet Exchange (LINX is is the largest Internet exchange point in Europe) last week we strayed briefly away from discussing our Anti-Spam solution, M-Switch Anti-Spam, and our upcoming IMAP server into the general area of PC Security.

LINX swear by a hard disk encryption package supplied by Swedish company, PointSec, which is usable on laptops, PDAs, mobile phones and removable media.

On the grounds that LINX seem to know what they are talking about with regards to other issues, PointSec is probably worth checking out if you have worries about data security.

Why are we blogging? (Part 2)

Steve asked why we are blogging. To the reasons he listed I'd add:

1. As Micah Dubinko says here, the process of blogging encourages a more informal approach to even the most formal of documents (like whitepapers). Even though the current structure of our whitepapers is fine for our mostly technical audience, a less formal introduction to a whitepaper via a blog might help place it in context.
2. The use of trackbacks (as in the post above) may lead to a wider audience.
3. Our 'mass' communications with customers and prospects invariably concentrate on items directly relevant to our products and solutions. The blog, as a more informal medium, will allow us to introduce readers to other stories that are relevant to the markets we are in but not so closely aligned as to warrant inclusion in our regular roundup emails.

Why are we blogging?

This note is primarily to test posting (as I'm not an experienced blogger).    It seems to me that there are two basic reasons why we're doing this:

1.  To open up a more informal communication channel from Isode, to customers, partners, and anyone else interested in what we are doing.

2.  To provide a forum where it is easy for anyone interested to comment, feed back, and share experience. 

I'd be interested to hear what others feel about this.

AMHS Terminals

We've added a new page (in fact a few pages) to the Isode website today expanding on the coverage we give to AMHS Terminals.

In previous site revisions we've explained the concept of AMHS, the new standard for ground to ground communications in the aviation industry, explained AMHS message storage deliver and archiving and answered the questions, What is an AMHS Terminal?

On the page added today we show some of the AMHS Terminals (or AMHS Users Agents) that are available from Isode partners today. We'll be adding more examples to this page in the near future.

Cape Verde Civil Aviation Authority go with Isode

Isode partner Global Weather Dynamics, Inc. (GWDI) has completed commissioning of the messaging system for the Civil Aviation Administration of Cape Verde.

The system installed at the Oceanic Control Center of SAL consists of GWDI’s Message Handling System (MHS), utilising Isode's M-Switch X.400, M-Store X.400 and M-Vault X.500 server products together with GWDI's Aeronautical Information Terminal (AIT) to support ground communication between the operators located in Cape Verde and the countries of Senegal, Portugal and Spain.
